vDOT (voucher DOT) is a liquid staking derivative of staked DOT developed within the Bifrost SLP protocol. Users can deposit DOT to receive vDOT, which can be traded on the open market or redeemed back to DOT. vDOT holders benefit from staking rewards that contribute to the appreciation of its exchange price.

The Bifrost SLP protocol allows for capturing staking rewards without certain limitations, enhancing the yield for vDOT holders. The redemption period for vDOT is up to 28 days, although early redemption may be facilitated by the protocol's mechanisms. Additionally, vDOT operates as a Substrate asset within the Bifrost parachain, allowing interoperability with EVM, WASM, and other compatible parachains.
