Quai Network is a merge-mined network of blockchains designed to coordinate an infinite number of execution shards. It uses the Proof-of-Entropy-Minima (PoEM) consensus mechanism to reduce consensus-based contention.
The network is described as a composable multithreaded execution environment, with blocks produced approximately every 1.1 seconds. It is stated that this architecture can process more than 50,000 transactions per second.
