Origin Protocol, founded in 2017, operates on the Ethereum blockchain and features a multichain architecture designed for yield generation. The project offers products that support permissionless and composable integrations, optimizing rewards for OGN stakers. The native token, OGN, serves as both a governance and value-accrual asset within the ecosystem, allowing users to stake OGN to receive xOGN, which provides voting and economic rights.
The staking model permits users to lock OGN for periods ranging from one month to one year, with rewards distributed based on the amount staked and duration. Performance fees from yield-generating products are divided, with half going to OGN stakers as additional rewards and the other half allocated to purchasing tokens that enhance overall yield. Governance is managed by the Origin DAO, composed of OGN stakers, who participate in decision-making through fully on-chain mechanisms.
