Okcash is a decentralized cryptocurrency that began on November 24, 2014. It operates as a hybrid model, initially being mined through a Proof of Work (PoW) algorithm using Scrypt, and later evolved to include staking through a Proof of Stake (PoS) mechanism utilizing LTSS and Sha256.

The project is open-source and public, allowing for participation without any central ownership or control. Okcash has not undergone any initial coin offerings (ICO) or funding rounds and is maintained through voluntary contributions.
