Nexus Mutual Real World Insurance Vault

The Real World Insurance Vault (RWIV) is a tokenized yield vault on Ethereum developed by Nexus Mutual, an onchain insurance alternative operating since 2019. The vault accepts USDC deposits from accredited and sophisticated investors and deploys that capital as solvency backing for regulated, real-world insurance policies. Depositors receive RWIV, an ERC-20 vault share token. Returns come from two sources: a fixed baseline yield, compounding every second onchain, which is protected by Nexus Mutual cover; and quarterly bonus distributions derived from the surplus of the underlying insurance businesses (based on assets in excess of liabilities), shared between vault depositors who lock their shares, Nexus Mutual, and the Vault Operator entity. The vault implements the ERC-7540 asynchronous vault standard, reflecting the settlement timelines of the underlying insurance business, and is designed as an allocate-and-hold product with a target capital commitment of 18 to 24 months.
