Moonriver is an Ethereum-compatible smart contract parachain on the Kusama network, designed to support the deployment of Solidity and Vyper smart contracts with minimal modifications. It offers a complete Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) implementation, a Web3-compatible API, and bridges to Ethereum networks, facilitating connections for developers.
Moonriver serves as a companion network to Moonbeam on Polkadot, functioning as a permanently incentivized canary network. New code is deployed to Moonriver first for testing and verification under real conditions before it is transferred to Moonbeam.
