Monad is a Layer 1 blockchain platform founded in 2023 that supports a throughput of 10,000 transactions per second with minimal fees. Its architecture enables parallel execution of transactions rather than the sequential processing typical of traditional blockchains. This design separates the agreement and execution phases, allowing for efficient consensus while maintaining system accuracy.
Monad is fully EVM compatible, enabling Ethereum applications to operate without modifications. The platform can be accessed through standard wallets like MetaMask. Monad has raised approximately 244 million dollars in funding, including a 19 million dollar seed round in February 2023 led by Dragonfly Capital and a 225 million dollar Series A round in April 2024 led by Paradigm at a valuation of 3 billion dollars. Other investors include Electric Capital, Greenoaks, and Coinbase Ventures.
Risk Report
Cryptocurrency carries risk. Every project listed on this site, regardless of its score, operates in a volatile and largely unregulated market. Tokens can lose most or all of their value. A high score reflects lower structural risk based on the data we can measure. It does not mean a project is safe, that the price will hold, or that losses are unlikely. Always research independently and never commit money you cannot afford to lose.
Track record score 62 out of 100. This score indicates a relatively moderate historical performance, with the project being operational for 1.3 years. There have been no regulatory actions against it, which is a positive factor. However, a historical incident coupled with several concerns raised by research needs to be considered by potential investors.
Economic design score 40 out of 100. This score highlights certain vulnerabilities in the project's structure, particularly due to the lack of a hard supply cap, which raises concerns about potential inflation. Additionally, only 12% of the total supply is currently circulating, indicating that a significant amount remains locked or unreleased, which can influence market dynamics.
Developer health score 0 out of 100. This score reflects a concerning lack of activity, showing no GitHub stars, forks, or recent commits. The absence of contributions in the last four weeks is particularly alarming and raises questions about the project's ongoing development and support from its developer community.
Network security score 48 out of 100. This score implies a relatively average level of security, with a market cap of approximately $344 million. The project is relatively young at 1.3 years old and does have a recorded historical incident, which could pose potential risks for users and investors.
Social behavioral score 55 out of 100. While the project has a presence on social media platforms like Twitter, Telegram, and Discord, the audience data is limited, particularly on Twitter. Sentiment appears balanced, but the project has faced bad press and a historical hack, prompting a need for careful evaluation.
Adoption liquidity score 49 out of 100. The project shows moderate activity with a 24-hour trading volume of approximately $37.9 million and is listed on 38 centralized exchanges, 25 of which are considered trustworthy. However, the market cap tier remains low, indicating limited adoption and liquidity at this stage.
Overall, while Monad presents some intriguing elements, the project is also marked by risks intrinsic to the crypto sector. Investors should approach with caution, considering the elevated risk factors such as lack of developer activity, historical incidents, and economic vulnerabilities.
