No, not in my opinion and I have been involved, on and off since 2014. It has already survived 7 years (with no scamdal) and now has some really solid experienced professional coders and dev's behind it. The Community is 2nd to none and contrary to some reviews, it does have exchanges available. It is the only cryptoasset that has an optional built in philanthropic element via BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure of Network Computing) and the associated projects using grid-computing. One such example is 'World Community Grid' running 'OpenPandemics - COVID 19 7.17'. Todays 24 Hour Trading Volume is $16,876.

Gridcoin is a solid coin and I am mining it with 30 computers and 45 graphic cards. Unlike most other cryptocurrencies, you do not just heat air to secure the blockchain, but you advance scientific research through the BOINC community (Seti@home and the like).

No Gridcoin is not a scam, it has a solid userbase of people who dedicate their spare computing power to aid scientific research. The coin is actively developed and all decisions are taken by on blockchain voting, its one of the most democratic and well developed coins on the market.
