Ever since the beta in 2013, they've been distributing rewards to protein folders on the Folding@Home. Periodic airdrops, contests, and donations to charity - recently updated website and roadmap. Yes, they have centralized components in the payout system (which seems to hiccup every couple months), but the wallet has been rock solid. I wouldn't "bet the farm" on it - but these guys seem to do a lot of good and need the support of an angel investor to really shine. Even if you buy and hold to support the protein folders in their network - the research they directly participate in (like cancer and COVID-19) might help you in more ways than one some day. BTW, they dropped PoS mining in 2018 ... the only way to earn the CURE is through folding proteins through their Folding@home team, or by staking your wallet.

This coin has been around for 4 years as of writing. They do still release new updates and everyone keeps saying they have "big things" in the works. I fold with their folding team that kicks the hell out of all the other teams while earning curecoin to fold! Win win. They also donate to charities which at least it shows they keep active even if you could care less about charities.

automated payout system via cryptobullion (curecoin's hybrid mining pool) has been very predictable over the past four years. daily payouts with very few hiccups (and even those happen only because Stanford stats servers go down for maintenance during holidays). despite criticisms, the system works in rewarding citizen scientists using a secure token on an independent blockchain - with ongoing development on future versions. The lastest news about Veriblock and Curecoin is encouraging as well.
