Cartesi, founded in 2018, enables developers to create appchain rollups using various programming languages while leveraging Ethereum's security. Its technology suite includes Cartesi Rollups, which offer an execution environment as L2, L3, or sovereign rollups. The Cartesi Machine is a RISC-V-based virtual machine that operates on Linux, facilitating complex computations and dApp development. Additionally, Cartesi features blockchain explorers such as CartesiScan and Cartesi Explorer for transaction viewing and governance participation.

The native token, CTSI, serves multiple purposes, including governance and staking rewards. A Validator Marketplace is also integral, connecting applications with validation service providers while requiring validators to stake CTSI for participation. Token holders can delegate their tokens to validators and utilize CTIS for supporting dApps, linking the demand for CTSI with the growth of the Cartesi ecosystem.
