Bancor Network

Bancor Network, established in 2017, is an ecosystem comprising decentralized, open-source protocols that facilitate on-chain trading and liquidity. Its main protocol, Carbon, enables users to implement automated trading strategies with custom on-chain limit and range orders. Additionally, the Fast Lane protocol allows users to engage in arbitrage between Bancor protocols and external exchanges, funneling profits back to the Bancor ecosystem. Governance is managed by BancorDAO, which operates utilizing staked BNT tokens.

The Carbon protocol introduces Asymmetric Liquidity, permitting users to create distinct buy and sell liquidity positions. This model aims to enhance trading efficiency by allowing adjustments without requiring multiple limit orders. As of now, the Bancor community is focused on developing Carbon and Fast Lane, with current functionalities on the Ethereum mainnet, and plans for further deployment across other blockchains. BNT serves a governance role within the ecosystem, with additional uses determined by BancorDAO.
