Balancer is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol focused on automated market maker (AMM) development for developers and liquidity providers. It features a unique vault architecture that separates core design patterns from individual liquidity pools, allowing for customizable pool configurations.
The protocol supports various internally developed pool types, including Weighted Pools, Boosted Pools, and LVR mitigating stableswaps. Additionally, it accommodates externally developed pools such as Elliptical Concentrated Liquidity and CoW AMMs. Balancer is designed to facilitate yield-bearing liquidity while addressing concerns related to miner extractable value (MEV).
