What is zkRune?

zkRune is a tool designed for creating Zero-Knowledge Proofs, enabling users to prove facts while keeping sensitive information private. It facilitates applications like age verification, balance proof, anonymous voting, private membership verification, and range proofs without exposing personal data. The system utilizes Groth16 zk-SNARKs for cryptographic security, which is a standard in several established blockchain technologies.

The platform operates entirely client-side, ensuring that all cryptographic processes occur within the user's browser, and private data remains on their device. zkRune does not require any setup or technical expertise, allowing for offline functionality as a Progressive Web App (PWA). It is open-source, promoting transparency and offering a visual circuit builder that simplifies the creation of custom privacy proofs tailored for the Zcash ecosystem.
