What is Tellor Tributes?

Tellor Tributes is an oracle system designed to facilitate access to off-chain data for Ethereum smart contracts. By enabling parties to request off-chain values, such as ETH/USD, Tellor allows miners to compete in adding these data points to an on-chain database that is available to all Ethereum applications. The security of the data is maintained through a network of staked miners.

The main Tellor smart contract is responsible for creating a time series of the requested data, positioning itself as a potential standard source for valuable data in decentralized applications. The native token, Tributes, is utilized to incentivize miners in the system to provide specific data series upon request.
