What is Secret?

Secret is the native coin of the Secret Network, established to facilitate private and secure computation. The network employs nodes, referred to as secret nodes, that can execute generalizable computations on encrypted data, enabling smart contracts termed secret contracts to utilize private data safely. Its primary focus is on computational privacy, aiming to support various applications in decentralized finance, Web3, machine learning, and access control.

The Secret Network encompasses contributions from multiple independent development teams and organizations, such as Enigma and the Secret Foundation, among others. This collaborative effort allows developers to create decentralized applications, known as Secret Apps, while emphasizing the importance of privacy in their functionalities.
