What is Mainframe?

Mainframe is a platform for decentralized applications described as a messaging layer for the "new web." Its peer-to-peer network is presented as routing data packets with aims of resistance to censorship, surveillance, and disruption. The platform is described as supporting applications that send data, store files, manage payments, and run tasks.

Mainframe provides a developer-friendly SDK that delivers these services in a secure peer-to-peer fashion and is designed to be modular and pluggable across underlying service layers. A single medium of exchange, Mainframe tokens (MFT), is described as being used to improve developer and user experience.
