What is Elastos?

Elastos was founded by OS expert Rong Chen and is an open source platform focused on blockchain interoperability. It uses a hybrid consensus combining Bitcoin-style hashpower security and Delegated Proof-of-Stake. Elastos also includes a peer-to-peer communication network, decentralized data storage services, and a decentralized identity (DID) system for digital assets, along with sidechains such as Ethereum.

The elastOS flagship product is described as bringing the decentralized ecosystem into a single app, available for Android, with iOS and desktop in development. Elastos also runs a Cyber Republic initiative that is described as a community-governed grant fund for supporting startups and existing businesses exploring blockchain.
