What is Cudos?

CUDOS is a decentralized compute network, founded by Mathew Hawkins, utilizing the Tendermint protocol and built on the Cosmos blockchain. It offers interoperability through Inter Blockchain Communication (IBC) and supports smart contracts written in various languages that compile to WebAssembly. The network aims to provide performance with peak transaction speeds between 200 to 500 TPS while ensuring lower transaction and gas costs compared to traditional proof-of-work networks.

The native CUDOS token has multiple functions, including transaction payments, governance, and staking mechanisms for blockchain and cloud workloads. The total supply is capped at 10 billion tokens, distributed over ten years starting January 11, 2021, with allocations for community development, reserves, team incentives, and advisors. The network employs a Byzantine Fault Tolerant Bonded Proof of Stake mechanism for security, incentivizing validator participation and maintaining a high uptime.
