What is Conan?

Conan is a male Belgian Malinois serving as a military working dog in the United States 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta. He has participated in over 50 combat missions and has ties to the United States Special Operations Command. His name is a tribute to the comedian Conan O'Brien.

Conan was trained by the 341st Military Working Dog Training Squadron, based at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. While he became well-known for his involvement in a raid against ISIS, details about his other missions remain classified.
