What is Clearpool?

Clearpool is a decentralized capital markets ecosystem for unsecured loans between institutional borrowers and the DeFi ecosystem. It uses a dynamic interest model driven by market supply and demand. Liquidity providers supply funds to pools and earn yields that are enhanced by additional LP rewards paid in CPOOL. Clearpool LP tokens, called cpTokens, are described as building blocks for tokenized credit that provide risk management and hedging capabilities.

CPOOL is Clearpool's utility and governance token. CPOOL holders vote on whitelisting new borrowers, which qualifies participants to earn additional CPOOL through an incentive reward scheme. The protocol describes a move toward decentralized governance where CPOOL holders can propose, vote, and implement protocol changes and upgrades. Borrowers are described as required to stake CPOOL to access the area of the protocol where they can make proposals to be whitelisted.
