What is BitcoinOS?

BitcoinOS (BOS) is a smart contract operating system designed for Bitcoin, facilitating scalability and programmability without modifying the core consensus of Bitcoin. It employs zero-knowledge proofs through BitSNARK for the verification of off-chain computations, enabling developers to create decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, rollups, and programmable assets secured by Bitcoin.

The Grail protocol within BitcoinOS allows for trustless transfer of Bitcoin across rollups and other blockchain networks, removing the necessity for custodial bridges.
